13 Plants That Represent Strength and How To Use Them

Plants that represent strength

One of the major parts of being a green witch is taking plants and using them to encourage something we want

Strength comes in many forms, so choosing the right kind of strength is something to think about. 13 of the plants that you can have create strength in your life through intentions are:

  • Arnica
  • Basil
  • Blue Cohosh
  • Borage
  • Comfrey
  • Lady’s Mantle
  • Stinging Nettle
  • Cloves
  • Carnation
  • Cinnamon
  • Ebony
  • Master Wort
  • Mullein

Remember that plants can only do what you allow them to do

The magick comes from you 

But it never hurts to use plants in your spells that can effectively hold the specific outcome that you want

Let’s learn a little more about the type of strength that each plant speficalizes in and how we can use them in our spells

Arnica

Arnica was discovered by Europeans during the late 1500s, but Native Americans used it long before that

It is widely used for its healing properties and can be used topically to help bruises, aches, and sprains

Arnica represents strength due to its association with mountainous regions.

It can be used as an alter offering or carried in a sachet for inner strength

Basil

Basil has been enjoyed for 4-5 thousand years and was called a “royal herb” in ancient Greece

Basil was used as a purifying herb to prepare holy water

It is a symbol of love and happiness, but it also cultivates strength and protection

Blue Cohosh 

Blue Cohosh has been used by Native Americans for hundreds of years to stimulate menstrual flow and even labor.

It is used for endings and the strength to end things.

You can use it if you want the strength to end a relationship or any other journey

Borage

Borage is a plant native to Syria but spread by the Romans

The flowers, leaves, and seeds are used to make tea, oil, infusions, compresses, and poultices

Borage is an uplifting herb that helps with mood elevation and the cultivation of courage. 

Bourage can be used to amplify your personal energy when strength and bravery is needed

It’s gifts are strength and happiness (more plants that represent happiness)

Comfrey

Comfrey grows throughout North America, but it is native to Asia and Europe

Its root and leaves are used for healing properties that help browken bones, gums, and teeth

It also boosts the immune system

Comfrey has magickal associates that inclue protection, strength to set boundaries, and associations with time

Comfrey is also used to manifest slow growth towards your goals

Lady’s Mantle

During the middle ages, Lady’s mantle was used in alchemy attempts to change base metals into gold

The leaves are thought to resemble the paw of a lion, which gives it the other names pied-de-lion in French and Leontopodium in New Latin

The leaves and roots of Lady’s mantle have been used to treat things like diarrhea, bloating, and menopausal symthoms

Root decoctions are used to treat ulcers

And tea made from the leaves is used to gargle for sore throats

Lady’s Mantle can be used to invoke strength and concealment

Stinging Nettle

Stinging nettle has tiny hair that cover the leaf and stem

These hairs are hollow and filled with venom

The dried leaves are void of the venom and do not sting

If you stew the leaves of the stinging nettle, it is lose the sting and create a remedy for inflammation like arthritis

Stinging Nettle will amplify courage and increase virility

Cloves

Cloves are full of antioxidants and will help fight off sickness and disease

This edible plant can be used whole or ground into spices

It represents protection and love

Carnation

Carnation is a beautiful flower used to treat nervous disorders

The flowers can be made into drinks or salad

Only the flowers are edible

Cornation represents protection, strength, and healing

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is one of my favorite spices

I use it in both spellwork and cooking regularly

Cinnamon can lower blood sugar, reduce risk for heart disease, and many other health benefits

Cinnamon represents success, healing, and power

Ebony

Ebony is a dense tree from Africa with healing and nurishment properties

It can be used to help with pollution

Ebony is used to protect yourself from unwanted energies and people

It represents protection and power

Master Wort

Master Wort has been used to create medicine for muscle cramps, stomach disorders, digestive problems, diarrhea, and swelling of the lining around your organs

It is also beneficial for asthma, fevers, colds, colic, spasms, water retention, and more

Even with all of this, there are some safety concerns when taking it my mouth or applied to skin

It can cause sensitivity to the sun and lead to increased sunburn

Master Wort represents strength, courage, and protection

Mullein – courage

Mullein is a pretty yellow flower that can help with congestion and mucus

It creates a soothing anti-inflammatory coating that helps with coughs and bring up mucus that has setting in your throat

Mullein has been used to treat respiratory illness, like asthma and cleaning after you quit smoking

It represents courage, protection, heath, and love

Using them in easy spells and rituals

Once you know what kind of strength you want and choose the plants, now it is time to use them

Usually it is best ot her dried plants in your spellwork because it lowers a chance of mold

There are many kinds of spells and rituals you can do, and what you choose it highly personal

One way to use herbs is just in their dried form

The cinnamon spell is an example

One the first of the month, put 3 TBSP of ground cinnamon in your hand and blow it into your front door

Cinnamon holds abundance, and you choose what to make more of in your life

Usually this spell is used for money

Thing and focus on what you want increased, blow the cinnamon into the house, and then don’t sweep for 24 hours

You will have some cinnamon left on your hand

I like to wipe that into my hair

That is just one type of spell
